Nittany Performing Arts Centre

How We Started

Across the Centre Region, artists, educators, and audiences are calling for a place that brings us together, celebrates who we are, and inspires what we can become.

At a time when people everywhere are seeking connection, meaning, and hope, we have a rare opportunity to invest in something lasting: a home where the arts—and our community—can truly thrive.

That vision began to take shape in 2016, when Douglas Meyer, newly retired as Conductor of the Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra, gathered with fellow arts leaders to discuss a shared need: a dedicated venue where community performing arts organizations could rehearse, perform and grow together.
